Review:
This drama only had 12 30 mins episodes so this was an easy watch despite the stressful and predictable moments. Maybe I can’t relate because I’m not yet married, but while watching the drama, all I can think of is, “Why are they getting married in the first place?” How long have they been together as a couple? They looked so in love and in sync in the first episode, but it seems like they don’t know enough about each other’s personalities and values and they don’t communicate enough. That’s why they started fighting as they are planning the wedding. Jun Hyeong proposed to her, Na Eun accepted, but they have not really thought about actually living together. They were in a bubble of love and dating.

First off, in terms of finance, they are so different when it comes to handling their money. I’m a bit like Na Eun where I invest and save, so I was as stressed as Na Eun to find out that Jun Hyeong spends a lot of money and doesn’t seem to know how to save.

Second, when it comes to arguments, Jun Hyeong tends to run away and just say sorry and hope Na Eun lets it go, while Na Eun is passive aggressive. Not a good sign. When Na Eun forces him to talk to her, Jun Hyeong gets so stressed and doesn’t pick up the phone (duh!! I’ll get angry too!) On the other hand, Na Eun is very stubborn and doesn’t cut Jun Hyeong some slack. They have to learn to choose their battles and compromise.

Third, in dealing with the in-laws, Jun Hyeong is annoying and don’t know how to handle balancing the wife’s needs and the clingy mom’s selfishness. Na Eun meanwhile, keeps saying nice things in front of Jun Hyeong’s mom even though she doesn’t mean it. It causes unnecessary misunderstandings. The drama seems like it’s all about Na Eun, and what she wants because she’s the bride, while Jun Hyeong doesn’t have a spine or is not decisive enough to communicate to both women.

Speaking of in-laws, Jun Hyeong’s mom is stressful. I don’t know if she is mean or pretending to be nice or is actually nice. She is petty, sending the gift with the price tag, insisting that she go with Na Eun to shop and choosing things she likes and not considering Na Eun’s feelings. Just like what Na Eun’s mom told Jun Hyeong’s mom — she knows how it is between the wife and the mother in law, why is she making it difficult for Na Eun? it seems like she is jealous of Na Eun and not ready to let go of her son.

I honestly don’t know if in real life, the couple can survive past the first year of marriage. I feel like they’re probably fighting right now. The wife is always right, the husband will keep saying yes or I’m sorry to stop her nagging. I just hope their love for each other is enough, and that they will be more honest with each other and talk through their issues.

Lee Yeonhee is so pretty and I like her character’s friendship with her 2 besties. However, Jinwook always looks unkempt and scruffy while his best friend is funny and nice.

I like secondary couple, they were both funny and in some way, perfect for each other. I just wished that they also gave the single friend a partner (and not just the cameo actor) in the end.

Review”
“Was it bound to happen or did I make it happen?”

I loved Minhu, he was a jerk in episode 1 but he just kept on getting awesome in every episode! Kyesang isn’t your traditional pretty boy ML but he is very manly esp. with the kissing and bed scenes with Yesool. But he can also be cute and silly during their dates.

I have mixed feelings with Yesool. I love her when she’s in love (she’s so cute and flirty) but I hate that she kept running away whenever Minhu and Pilyo tried to confront her with her feelings.

Jisuk can make viewers want the SML be the ML. He’s so good at portraying the boyfriend or ex bf that you don’t want to waste. I was fine whether Yesool ended up with him or Minhu. It’s just too bad that the relationship ended the way it was and when Yesool finally learned the truth, I thought, aww, so many regrets!!! But I guess they really weren’t meant to be.

I didn’t like whiny and clingy Jiyoung but I love her whenever she is with Pilyo. I thought they matched better because Pilyo can put her with her silliness and whining. And Jiyoung is so forward with her feelings with Pilyo, I thought Pilyo also deserve to find a girl who loves him so much.

The second couple Seungtaek and Howoo were so cute but didn’t like that Howoo was too cold to Seungtaek when she started her residency. Inho the actor usually plays the bad guy in the drama so it was nice to see him being funny and cute this time.

The last 20 mins of the final episode! WTH was that!!! They could have added more scenes between Seungtak and Howoo if they ran out of stories to fill the rest of the episode!

Yesool’s mother who kept the whole dad’s murder/stalker from Yesool was horrible thing to do. She could have prevented a lot of hurt had she been more honest with her daughter and the people around her.

Luo Zheng – Gu Xicheng
Yang Ze – Fo Boya
Wang Xu Dong – Si Tu Shuo
Li Xin Ran – Lu An An
Zhang Yao – Nangong Liu Li
Pan Zi Yan – He Jinxi

Review:
This drama has all the fun and not so fun tropes. Contract relationship and falling in love for real switched identities and bad sibling exposing the secret, annoying SLs who can’t move on, and cool best friends of the leads falling in love and helping the couple. The second leads and the sister are super crazy so fast forward them if you like.

Super love Gu Xicheng and Sun Yanxi. They are so cute together!! They were supportive of each other. And we later find out they had a childhood encounter too.

“No matter what happened before, and for whatever reason you came to me, my feelings have never changed a bit. Please trust me too. I love you.”

Xicheng to Yanxi

From now on, I’ll love her, spoil her, respect her and care for her. Whatever difficulties and challenges we may encounter in the future, I will always cherish her and see her as my life.

Xicheng to Yanxi

The romance of the two best friends were also funny!

The mischievous grandma is sweet unlike the usual dramas.

On the other hand, the SML and SFL were so clingy and annoying!! I thought Nangong was an ex gf but turns out it was all one sided! And she was not even pretty!!! I’m happy that Yanxi stood up to her and didn’t cower with fear. I’ve never seen SLs as psychotic and deluded as them. I couldn’t even care what happened to them. They showed Boya’s fierce and undying love (or obsession?) for Nangong to explain his actions, but I still didn’t find it satisfying or justifiable.

The real and new face of He Jinxi was ugly. Inside and outside. I can’t imagine why she thinks she deserves everything that Yanxi has when she didn’t even work hard for them. I like what Gu Xicheng said that she could never be Yanzi because they are not the same people. Yanzi is nice, sweet and hard working that’s why everyone loves her while Jinxi is so horrible, bullying and blackmailing her own sister and mother. I can understand how sad and unloved she must have felt all these years since it seemed like everyone favored Jinxi. But its also probably her attitude and personality that turned off a lot of people.

Overall, even at 24 episodes, this drama was so light and fun and easy to watch.

It’s Beautiful Now Eps 11-20

Yoon Jae and Hae Jun’s relationship continues to progress well. Haejun was the one who liked Yoon Jae first but now Yoon Jae knows the truth and the more he gets to know Haejun, the more he falls in love with her.

Likewise, Hyun Jae and Mirae are doing well. I just hate the brother meddling on her sister’s relationship. Plus the almost bipolar mom of Mirae — sometimes she’s encouraging, most times she ruins Mirae’s mood. Why can’t she be happy and supportive? She doesn’t even know Hyun Jae to judge him. Plus so what if his dad is adopted? She is also adopted — she should know than judge or discriminate him. She has been hiding her secret from her own family.

Soojae and Yuna is also falling in love for real.

Apart from the romance, I like the brother-sister relationship between Haejun and Hyunjae.
