Review: Yay!! Another great season with old and new guests helping Tae Hyun and Insung manage this huge supermarket. Definitely a big step up from the cute and cozy convenience store from season 1.
They were busier this time so most scenes were them trying to serve the customers, although we still get to meet and hear the stories of the villagers. There were also more part timers per episode so less heart to heart conversations during dinner time.
First 5 episodes were centered on Insung’s friends – Kwangsoo, Woobin and Juhwan.
I’m sad the Hyunhee and Eunhyung only spent half day because they had to cut the day short. They were so funny!!
The next group of part timers were also great – Seunghwan, Kyungho, Hojun, Byungeun and Seolhyun. They elevated the dinner service with their own cooking, which gave Insung free time to chat with the guests. I love how they all came to support Taehyun and Insung.
They saved the best for last as Chairwoman Hyesoo, Gyunghye joined the two, and we even got a surprise visit from Hyojoo!! They were so nice and down to earth. Plus Kyungmin is back for his dinner live show.
Curious that majority of the guests are more from Insung’s friends/cast mates from his recent projects and just a few from Taehyun’s side. I want to see Kim Jong Kook or Jang Hyuk help them!
Wishing for season 3 please!! Maybe try a new business like a coffee shop, food truck or something totally different!!

Review: I loved the episodes with Kim So Yeon and Choi Yebin (ep 4-5) — their real personalities are the exact opposites of their Penthouse characters; On Ju Wan, Kim Dong Kyu and Ha Do Kwon (eps 6-8) — poor guys, they were unknowingly roped into manual labor; Yoon Joo Hee (ep 8-9) — I loved how strong she was carrying the heavy tiles like they were as light as feathers; and Eugene (ep 9-10) — I loved how cool she was and how she kept eating with so much gusto.
The second season of Youn’s Kitchen premiered last Saturday with Park Seojun replacing ShinGu as the part timer. This time, they were opening their restairant in Garachino village, Terafine Island, Spain! Wow i loved the location.. It looked very idyllic and peaceful, and the natural pools looked so amazing!
The team were amazed and pressured by their new restaurant. It definitely looked classier than the Bali place, which was more of a casual snack bar. Thia time, their menu consists of beef bibimbap and hotteok.
Their challenge aside from selling the food ia the language. While there are a lot of tourista who speak English, they also had to learn Spanish, at least in restaurant terms to be able to speak to some of the customers. In the previews being shown, it looks like the director did a good job in choosing Seojun as he is used to cooking, has experience in working at a restaurant and was able to memorize and conversein Spanish.
Im looking forward to the next episodesto see how the people react and received Korean cuisine. I am sure they dont get Korean food as much as other countries.
I chanced upon this show when i was waiting for the 3 Meals a day and im glad i did. I have watched thr producers other shows like Grandpa over flowers, 3 meals a day etc. I liked the concept for the 4 of them opening a restaurant in Bali and see them cooking, serving, thinking of new menu and also bonding during their free time. I havent watched yun yuhjungs movies or dramas but am familiar with the 3. I also liked the fact that they were unrecognizable by the tourists and restaurant diners so to them it looks like they are an ordinary family or team in the restaurant business.
Their menu were simple but judging from the peoplea reaction, delicious. All through out the 8 episodes i wish i could fly there and order so i can taste the bulgogi noodles and the pop dumplings. I was worried for Shingoo that he is old but im surprised that he is still so fit and was able to handle the work. I also loved the teamwork and camaraderie between them im not sure if they are all friends previously or acquaintances but they seem to be comfortable with each other. As much as i would love for yuni and seojin to get together i dont think they have a love chemistry but more on brother sister vibes.
What i wished they have done was also give a summary of how much they made during the 7 days they opened coz its not just managing the restaurant kitchen food and diners but also seeing if they were profitable.
I heard there is going to be a second season. I hope the episodes will be longer and that the team will have a daily or end of the show challenge. That way they have a target and will keep them on their toes.
Try to catch this wonderful show in case it is still showing in TvN!
